Two If by Mouth

Two if by mouth,
She heard him wait.
A spoon softened
An un-early date.
Close to the heart,
A tragic beginning,
A timeless tailspin,
Slip into sharp skin.
Sit under their walls.
She begged of faith
By raising questions
And her right hand,
Five fingers straight up
Into the darkness
Above the bright mist.
